About The Prandi Center

The Jeannette Prandi Children's Center is a place where children who have been sexually abused, or suffered other forms of abuse, can be interviewed in an environment designed with their comfort in mind. The purpose of the Center is to provide the setting for a coordinated and collaborative interview with the required agencies responding to the child's allegation. Investigators strive to gain a thorough understanding of what the child initially reported, while being sensitive to the difficultly the child has in recounting the disturbing event(s).

The Center is named after Jeannette Prandi, the first female police sergeant in Marin County who died in 1997 of cancer. For nearly three decades, her extensive, capable, and dedicated work on behalf of our com munity's children was an inspiration to all who knew her.
